Ryanair flight #RK8293 departed Tirana Sunday, November 10 2024 at 15:56 GMT for a 3-hour flight to Manchester.

The Boeing 737 MAX 8200 (registration EI-HMT) was cruising at 38,000 ft then started descent over the Channel when the crew contacted ATC about a serious medical situation on board.

The flight was vectored to Stansted Airport where it landed shortly before 8 p.m GMT, where emergency services were on standby.

Upon landing, the aircraft was met by airport fire services, police, paramedics, and an air ambulance crew.

Despite the best efforts of medical teams, the male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene following a medical emergency.

A representative from Stansted Airport confirmed, “The flight diverted into London Stansted due to an onboard medical emergency. The flight landed safely and was met by medics, airport fire service, and ambulance crews. Despite the best efforts of all those responding, the passenger unfortunately passed away.”
