Turkish Airlines #TK204 Flight from Seattle to Istanbul is making an emergency landing at New York JFK Airport following serious medical situation of the captain.

A Turkish Airlines flight is making an emergency landing at New York JFK after the Captain suddenly fell ill.

The Airbus A350-900 (registration TC-LGR) departed Seattle at 18:52 PDT. The crew decided to divert while cruising over Northern Canada at 05:53 UTC.

According to source, the Captain of the Turkish Airlines Airbus A350 aircraft flying from Seattle to Istanbul has died.

The Captain Pilot of our Airbus 350 type aircraft with the tail registration TC-LGR, operating the flight number TK204 from Seattle to Istanbul, fainted during the flight.

The pilot said to ATC “Initially we had 3 pilots but we’ve lost one of our captains, this is why we are diverting to JFK”.

The airline said the first medical intervention to the captain was ineffective and despite the decision to make an emergency landing, the captain lost his life before landing.

A Russian Special Detachment aircraft flew to Washington and New York City for diplomatic mission.

A Ilyushin Il-96-300 departed Vnukovo Airport in Moscow on Thursday, October 3 2024 and flew to the North as the European airspace is closed to Russian aircraft.

The plane had to get around Finland before crossing the Atlantic and landing at New York JFK 9 hours and 50 minutes later to pick up UN personnel.

On the same day, the aircraft flew to Washington for another diplomatic personnel rotation.

Two days later, on Saturday, October 5 2024, the Il-96 departed Washington to New York JFK.

The aircraft is now en-route to Russia, over Murmansk oblast at the time we’re writing this article.

JetBlue flight from LaGuardia to West Palm Beach diverted to New York JFK.

JetBlue flight #B6561 departed New York LaGuardia Airport at 12:50 EDT Saturday, September 21 2024 to West Palm Beach.

The Airbus A220-300 (registration N3125J) climbed to 4,800 ft but the crew stopped the climb due to a technical fault.

The pilots contacted ATC and was vectored to New York JFK Airport.

The incident by caught live during livestream of L.A FLIGHTS from TWA hotel.

The Airbus landed on the runway 04L and stopped on the taxiway while 3 firetrucks met the aircraft at the back and 3 additional trucks and a mobile stairs joined it at the front.

Firemen then inspected the engines with temperature sensor as one of the engines was overheating.

The plane then had to be towed to the gate.

American Airlines flight from Dallas to Madrid diverted to New York City due to overflowing lavatory.

Wednesday, August 7 2024, the flight #AA36 departed Dallas-Fort Worth, TX at 5:50 CDT for a 9-hour flight to Madrid, Spain.

The Boeing 777-200ER (registration N751AN) climbed to 37,000ft but contacted ATC about an issue on board before crossing the Atlantic.

The plane turned right and started the descent to New York City. After holding for a while, it was vectored to New York JFK Airport runway 04L and landed 3 hours and 30 minutes after it departed from DFW.

According to The Aviation Herald, the diversion was due to an overflowing toilet, making impossible to continue the flight to Europe.

On August 7, American Airlines flight 36 with service from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) to Madrid (MAD) diverted to New York (JFK) due to a maintenance issue. The aircraft landed normally and since re-departed using a new aircraft. We never want to disrupt our customers’ travel plans and apologize for the inconvenience.

Delta flight form New York JFK to Geneva was forced to return following a mechanical issue.

Delta flight #DL100 to Geneva departed New York JFK Monday, August 5 2024 on runway 04R for a 7-hour flight to Switzerland.

The Boeing 767-400ER (registration N845MH) departed at 21:35 EDT and climbed to 11,000 ft when the crew noticed a mechanical problem.

As the landing gear would not retract, the aircraft entered a holding pattern. the pilots requested an immediate return to JFK.

Due to an operational issue, we have canceled this flight. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.

Delta statement

The 22-year old Boeing 767 landed on runway 13L one hour after departure. The flight was canceled and the plane is now under maintenance.

JetBlue flight to West Palm Beach was forced to return to New York JFK after 3 metal pieces fell from the aircraft.

JetBlue flight #B6153 departed New York JFK Airport at 20:37 EDT on Tuesday, July 2 2024 to West Palm Beach.

Shortly after takeoff, pilots of another JetBlue flight contacted the tower after seeing pieces dropping from the aircraft on runway 13L.

The flight was operated by an Airbus A320 (registration N507JT) which is 24 years old, delivered to the airline in 2000.

The tower then contacted the flight #B6153 which confirmed an issue and vibrations after gear retraction. The pilots requested to go to a lower altitude.

The runway then was closed to for ground vehicles to inspect the debris. The ground crew then confirmed to have found 3 pieces of metal.

Pilots confirmed 165 passengers and crew on board.

The flight then was vectored to the long runway 22L while the crew declared an emergency.

After landing, the A320 stopped on a taxiway while ground vehicles inspected the brakes and engine cowling.

The aircraft was then cleared to taxi back to the gate where passengers disembakred.

Another A320 aircraft (registration N636JB) performed the flight to West Palm Beach about 4 hours later.

A Delta Airlines flight to Amsterdam has made an emergency landing in New York City after passengers were served spoiled food during the flight.

Delta flight #DL136 from Detroit, Michigan to Amsterdam, The Netherlands diverted to JFK Airport early this morning after it was discovered that a portion of the in-flight meal service had been spoiled. 

The A330 plane (registration N816NW), which had 277 customers on board, departed from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport just before 11pm Tuesday.

The flight landed safely on runway 22L at New York JFK around 4am Wednesday, July 3 2024.

Delta flight 136 from Detroit to Amsterdam diverted to New York’s JFK early Wednesday morning after it was discovered that a portion of the in-flight meal service was spoiled.

It is not yet known how many passengers consumed the spoiled food but medics met the plane after it landed at JFK to provide treatment any passengers and crew members who had been affected. 

Medical crews were on site to meet the aircraft and treat any affected passengers and crew members.

A Russian Ilyushin Il-96-300 is about to land at New York JFK.

A Russian Ilyushin Il-96-300 departed Vnukovo International Airport today Wednesday, June 26.

Due to European airspace closure for Russian flights, the aircraft had to fly right to North to avoid Finland then to cross the Atlantic Ocean.

The plane, also known with callsign RSD738, took off at 9 a.m. Moscow time, and is estimated to arrive at around 2.00 pm EDT.

The flight is expected to land at New York JFK Airport, possibly to pick up government-related personnel such as staff members of the Russian embassy or Russian United Nation diplomats.

The Ilyushin Il-96 is a Russian four-engined jet long-haul wide-body airliner designed by Ilyushin in the former Soviet Union and manufactured by the Voronezh Aircraft Production Association in Russia. It is powered by four high-bypass Aviadvigatel PS-90 two-shaft turbofan engines.

Departures to JFK and LGA are grounded due to thunderstorms.

The FAA issued ground stops at JFKand LaGuardia Airport Thursday morning as a severe thunderstorm moved through the tri-state area.

The ground stops were issued around 9:30 a.m., and it was expected to lift at about 12 p.m., according to the FAA.

By 10:40 a.m., the ground stop at Newark was lifted, but flights were still seeing significant delays.

Flights at all three airports were already seeing delays up to nearly two hours.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning throughout New York City and the surrounding areas until 10:45 a.m. Heavy downpours hit around 10 a.m. Hail and wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour were expected throughout the morning.

Flight AA78 from Dallas-Fort Worth to London Heathrow diverted to New York JFK Airport.

The American Airlines flight #AA78 departed in the night of Saturday, May 47 and Sunday, May 5 2024.

The flight operated by a Boeing 777-300ER (registration N736AT) departed at midnight from Dallas-Fort Worth Airport.

But almost 2 hours into the flight, the plane turned around while cruising at 33,000 ft, heading back to Dallas when it finally turned towards Nashville or Atlanta.

The Boeing 777 finally headed to New York JFK Airport where it circled at 10,000 ft to dump fuel.

The Boeing 777 suffered a lighting strike.

The aircraft landed at JFK 5 hours and 30 minutes after departure and is scheduled to resume the flight at 08:00 EDT.

The crew didn’t declare an emergency but the reason of the diversion could be a situation on board, forcing the pilots to manage it before crossing the Atlantic.

Monday, April 29 2024 American Airlines flight AA333 departed from Athens at 14:14 EEST for a 10-hour flight to New York JFK.

The flight – operated by a Boeing 777-200ER (registration N783AN) – was starting to cross the Atlantic at FL360 before turning around.

The crew contacted ATC about a medical emergency on board. The plane was vectored to Dublin Airport where it was met by emergency services.

The aircraft taxied to terminal 2, gate 426. New departure is set by 19:00 GMT.

A Delta Air Lines Boeing 767 was forced to return to New York – JFK after one of its emergency slides deployed mid-air.

The Boeing 767-300 with registration N176DN, manufactured in 1990, was operating Delta flight DL520 bound for Los Angeles with 176 passengers and 7 crew members on board.

However, while flight DL520 was climbing out of JFK, the right overwing emergency slide was unexpectedly deployed. Following this, the crew stopped the climb at around 19,000 feet and returned to JFK. The B767 landed safely at JFK around 33 minutes after departure with no further incidents.

According to a Delta spokesperson, the crew received an indication from the right hand wing emergency slide. They also reported hearing some sound from the right hand wing.

“Delta Air Lines Flight 520 returned safely to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York around 8:35 a.m. local time on Friday, April 26, after the crew reported a vibration. The Boeing 767 was headed to Los Angeles International Airport. The FAA will investigate.”

The cause of the emergency slide deployment remains under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
