A cargo container was sucked into plane’s engine at Chicago O’Hare Airport.

The incident occurred when an American Airlines Boeing 787-9 (registration N834AA) arrived from London Heathrow on 17 October.

The right engine was damaged when it ingested a cargo container.

1/? CCTV footage of yesterday American Airlines #AA47 cargo container ingestion has surfaced, & it doesn't look good for the tug driver towing the cargo containers. Just as I suspected, they went onto the service road between 2 aircraft. #OHare #avgeek #ChicagoScanner #ORD pic.twitter.com/j7H8uqQBpx

A cargo tug crossed the path of the plane, and a jet blast sent the container flying into the engine, causing serious damage.

Fortunately, the aircraft safely taxied to the gate, and all passengers deplaned normally.
