United flight #UA231 from Los Angeles to London diverted to Chicago following a technical issue with the Boeing aircraft.

During the night between Thursday and Friday, September 27 2024, a United flight to London Heathrow was forced to divert to Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

The Boeing 787-9 (registration N27958) departed LAX Airport at 13:30 PDT for a 10-hour flight to London, UK.

The Dreamliner climbed to a 35,000 ft cruise altitude but turned around over the Hudson Bay.

The airline decided to divert the flight to ORD as maintenance to be needed following a navigation computer failure.

The aircraft landed more than 6 hours after departure. A Boeing 787-10 (registration N13013) is resuming the flight to London.
