The flight is operated by a 327 seat-Airbus A350-100 (registration A7-ANC).

The aircraft will divert to Athens on its way to doha.

Qatar Airways is planning a short stop of one hour, possibly to refuel before resuming the journey to Doha.

Monday, April 29 2024 American Airlines flight AA333 departed from Athens at 14:14 EEST for a 10-hour flight to New York JFK.

The flight – operated by a Boeing 777-200ER (registration N783AN) – was starting to cross the Atlantic at FL360 before turning around.

The crew contacted ATC about a medical emergency on board. The plane was vectored to Dublin Airport where it was met by emergency services.

The aircraft taxied to terminal 2, gate 426. New departure is set by 19:00 GMT.
