United flight to London Heathrow was forced to return to Newark.

United Airlines flight #UA394 departed Newark Wednesday, June 19 2024 for a 6-hour flight to London Heathrow.

The Boeing 767-300ER (registration N677UA) departed at 09:22 EDT from runway 22R. The 22-year aircraft climbed to 33,000 ft but less and one hour into the flight, the crew decided to turn around before reaching Nova Scotia.

One hour and 40 minutes after the takeoff, the aircraft landed back on the same runway following a technical issue.

The passengers had to disembark and to wait for another aircraft to be assigned to the flight.

The flight resumed 12 hours late with a new Boeing 767-300ER (registration N668UA). It is expected to land at 08:40 BST at London Heathrow Airport.
