An Airbus Beluga XL is due to make a rare visit to London Heathrow to deliver spare parts.
The Airbus Beluga XL (registration F-GXLO) is reportedly due to arrive at London Heathrow Airport today to drop off spare parts for a British Airways aircraft that has been grounded since April.
On April, 2024, while being towed from the stand at London Heathrow Airport Terminal 3, a Virgin Atlantic Boeing 787-9 left wingtip hit the horizontal stabilizer of a British Airways A350-1000.
The Virgin Atlantic aircraft (registration G-VDIA) arrived from Washington few hours earlier while the British Airways plane (registration G-XWBC) was parked after a flight from Accra.
The Virgin Atlantic Boeing 787 only returned to service on June 21, but the British Airways A350K remains on the ground at Heathrow because of the serious damage.
According to M Zulqarnain B: the Beluga should arrive at London Heathrow by 11:00 and should depart at 17:20 to deliver the spare parts for the British Airways A350-1000.
