United Airlines flight #UA1001 continued to Denver after loosing a wheel on takeoff from Los Angeles.

Another lost wheel incident for United Airlines occurred Monday, July 8 2024 at Los Angeles International Airport.

The flight #UA1001 to Denver departed Los Angeles runway 25R at 06:53 PDT when a wheel dropped from the aircraft.

The flight was performed by a Boeing 757-224 aircraft (registration N14107) which is 29 years old. It was delivered to the airline in 1994.

The wheel has been recovered in Los Angeles, and we are investigating what caused this event.

United Airlines statement

The flight with 174 passengers and 7 crew members landed in Denver without any further incident 1 hour and 53 minutes later.

About 4 months ago, a similar incident happened to another United Airlines aircraft on departure from LAX.
